ASTERIA™ – pink dwarf mini rose - Tanjga

ASTERIA™ is a compact, own-root miniature rose designed for terrace and small-garden cosiness, bringing a soft pink glow to patios, balconies and low borders. Its naturally dwarf, bushy habit stays neat with minimal shaping, making it easy to manage even if you are short on time or experience. Remontant flowering gives dependable flushes from early summer onwards, creating a relaxed, storybook atmosphere while coping well with typical British breezes and coastal weather. In an average family garden it settles quickly, the roots strengthening first, then the top growth building, before reaching its full ornamental effect over the next few seasons. Ideal in containers of at least 40–50 litres or at the front of beds, it offers long-lived colour from a modest footprint, and its own-root structure supports gradual renewal and reliable lifespan with only simple yearly care.

Usage options

Target areaReasoning
Balcony or roof-terrace container The compact, 20–30 cm height and 35–45 cm spread make this rose perfectly proportioned for pots where space is limited, and its neat framework is easy to manage in a 40–50 litre container without specialist pruning, suiting busy urban gardeners.
Front of cottage-style border The low, rounded shape creates a gentle edging that will not obscure taller perennials, while the soft mid-pink clusters repeat through summer, giving a romantic, “girly” cottage look with simple annual trimming, ideal for the traditional family gardener.
Children’s corner or play-area edging The small scale and tidy habit define paths and play spaces without becoming overgrown, so you can maintain a pretty, storybook feel with light pruning and basic feeding, fitting the needs of the family-focused homeowner.
Seasonal feature pot by the front door Regular remontant flowering provides reliable bursts of colour to welcome guests, while the naturally bushy structure holds its shape without frequent cutting back, making doorstep display straightforward even for the time-pressed beginner.
Low, romantic edging hedge Planted 25–30 cm apart, the uniform, compact bushes knit into a continuous pink edging that needs only simple shortening in late winter to stay tidy, a practical choice for the low-maintenance gardener.
Kitchen-garden ornament among herbs The diminutive size sits comfortably between chives and other herbs without shading crops, while the own-root structure allows steady regrowth if shoots are nipped or weather-damaged, suiting the practical kitchen gardener.
Urban courtyard bed or raised planter This small, dense shrub anchors narrow beds and raised planters, coping well with breezy conditions and typical urban exposure while maintaining its form with light annual care, appealing to the compact-space owner.
Long-term container planting in family gardens As an own-root rose it ages steadily, renewing from the base and maintaining its ornamental value over many seasons with basic feeding and occasional dead-heading, matching the expectations of the long-view gardener.

Styling ideas

  • Cottage-edge ribbon – line a curved path with Asteria™ and interplant small clumps of white Balkan catchfly for a pink-and-white froth – ideal for lovers of romantic front gardens.
  • Balcony tea corner – place one rose in a 50-litre tub beside a bistro set, underplanted with trailing herbs for scent – perfect for city dwellers creating a calm retreat.
  • Kitchen rose pot – team a dwarf Asteria™ in a large container with chives and other edible flowers for a pretty yet practical pot – suited to home cooks who enjoy growing ingredients.
  • Storybook border – dot Asteria™ along a low border with airy grasses and hare’s-ear for a soft, whimsical look – appealing to those seeking a gentle, fairy-tale atmosphere.
  • Neat family frontage – use a row of plants as a low hedge beneath windows, keeping views clear while adding colour – convenient for families wanting tidy kerb appeal.

Information about the videos
The video series is not a “seasonal showcase”; it illustrates the essence of pharmaROSA® own-root cultivation in a tangible way: how the plant is built up, what the root system is like and how the shoot system regenerates. The recordings were therefore made at different times and with plants at various stages of development, so mixed foliage levels and differing stages of growth may appear in the videos. They are not a ‘sample’ of the batch dispatched, but a visual explanation of how the technology works. The current condition of the rose available to order — typical for the given period and similar to what you can expect to receive in the parcel — is shown in the upper part of the product page.
