Winter schedule: protection and preparation
In winter the rose’s “operation” is simple: soil mounding in order, pots in a sheltered spot, and only occasional watering in a frost-free window. Main winter tasks
- Soil mounding: 10–15 cm (20–25 cm at the edges); leave 3–5 cm of stem clear – steps.
- Winter watering: rarely in a frost-free window; even less often in pots – guide.
- Tools: sharpening / disinfecting secateurs, getting ready for early spring pruning – checklist.
