Dr Túri Istvánné (Molnár Éva Anna), Évike, Éva néni, our Mother, passed away on 31 August 2012.
She was born on 28 February 1938 in Lengyeltóti, a town in Somogy county. She spent most of her childhood there, and in her memories it always meant an idyll, a happy and carefree life. The political upheavals after the war brought much bitterness to her and her parents. At the age of 21 she moved to Pest, to the Experimental Farm of the Horticultural University in Soroksár, where her love of plants and her exceptionally good organisational skills were soon recognised.
After completing horticultural technical school, she was entrusted with complex, practical experimental tasks, which she always carried out with great precision with the help of her brigade at the time. From the early 1970s she began growing roses within the framework of a small garden enterprise. Using traditional bare-root production technology, over a long period of time, together with her husband, she developed the method of rose cultivation in pots. Its advantages were exceptionally good rooting and ensuring varietal authenticity.
After the political changes the small garden horticulture developed into a business, which, in addition to growing potted roses, also included other annual and perennial plants. From the late 1990s, through her work and perseverance, she laid the foundations for the current achievements of PharmaRosa® Kft.
As a Mother she is unforgettable.
